Seoul's official subway storage network gives visitors two different tools: staffed T-Luggage counters at six stations and self-service T-Lockers spread across the network.

Where are the current T-Luggage counters?

Seoul Metropolitan Government currently lists T-Luggage at Seoul Station B1 near Exit 1; Hongik University Station B1 near Exits 3 and 4; Jamsil Station B1 near Exits 3 and 4; Myeongdong Station B1 near Exits 9 and 10; Gimpo Airport Station B1 near the information center; and Jongno 3-ga Station B1 near Exit 6. Station renovations and circulation can change, so open the official page before arrival and follow current signs.

The city lists the offline staffed service as open year-round from 09:00 to 22:00. Do not plan to retrieve a bag at the closing minute. Allow time to find the correct level, present any required receipt and continue to the train or airport. If your departure occurs earlier or later, use a hotel arrangement or another facility whose access you have confirmed.

Choose the station that belongs to your onward journey. Seoul Station is logical for KTX and some airport transfers, Hongik University for a Hongdae day, Myeongdong for central sightseeing, and Jamsil for the southeast. How much does official T-Luggage storage cost?

As verified on August 30, 2026, Seoul's official page lists a four-hour base for small bags at KRW 3,000 on weekdays and KRW 4,000 on weekends; medium at KRW 4,000 and KRW 6,000; large at KRW 6,000 and KRW 9,000; and extra-large at KRW 9,000 and KRW 13,000. The listed extension is KRW 1,000 per additional hour. Recheck before travel because pricing can change.

Size names are service categories, not a guarantee that your suitcase will fit. Measure unusually large luggage and ask staff. Availability is finite, especially during holidays and major events. Save the official address of a second counter, locker bank or hotel. A price comparison is useful only after confirming that the facility can accept the item for the full period.

When is a T-Locker better?

T-Locker is Seoul's self-service subway option. The city currently reports 336 locations across 273 stations and says they can be accessed during subway operating hours. The official app is Korean, which can make setup, payment and retrieval less intuitive for visitors. Do not place the bag inside until you understand the fee, size, retrieval method and what happens if your phone loses power.

A locker is best for a short, predictable outing near the same station. It is less suitable when your return may fall after rail access, you have an unusual item, or you need human assistance. Save the locker identifier and station exit, take a screenshot of the retrieval information and keep a charged phone. Never store the only phone or credential needed to reopen it.

Should you use your hotel instead?

Ask the hotel whether it stores bags before check-in or after checkout for current guests, how late retrieval is allowed, and whether the luggage remains attended. The service may be complimentary or subject to property rules. A hotel is often the simplest choice when you will return to the same neighborhood; it is inefficient when your onward train leaves from the opposite side of Seoul.

Do not assume a vacation rental, guesthouse or unattended property has a secure storage room. Obtain confirmation before arrival. What should never go into short-term storage?

Read the service's current prohibited-item and liability terms. As a practical rule, keep passports, wallets, medication, fragile valuables, irreplaceable data, travel documents and anything required for the next connection with you unless the operator explicitly accepts it and you accept the risk. Batteries, hazardous items, food and liquids may have restrictions. Do not use a locker to avoid aviation, rail or public-safety rules.

Photograph the bag and retain the receipt or digital record. Do not attach a visible home address. Lock zippers when appropriate, but remember that a luggage lock does not change the operator's liability. If a bag is lost, damaged or inaccessible, follow the facility's support process and allow time before departure.

How do you build a safe retrieval buffer?

Work backward from the train, bus or flight. Include the return to the station, navigation inside the interchange, possible queue, retrieval, platform transfer and a contingency. If storage is full, do not keep dragging the suitcase between distant facilities. Ask the staffed location for the nearest official alternative, contact your hotel or use another verified operator. The best storage choice is not always the cheapest one; it is the place on your route that is open when you need the bag back.
